Fabian Hothan is based in Hamburg. After training to become a certified photographer he started working as a photo assistant and moved on to work as a freelance photographer in advertising.
His passion for movies led him to take the next step and enter the film business. Starting as a focus puller he soon moved on to become a director of photography, shooting music videos and commercials on an international scale.
Fabian has worked all over the globe and has shot for clients/bands like Mercedes, Volkswagen, Audi, Jaguar, BMW, Toyota, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Skoda, Dr.Oetker, Nestlé, Lufthansa, Coca Cola, Aldi, Procter & Gamble, Depeche Mode, Nickelback and Mel C to name just a few.
Fabian has an extremely diversified portfolio and he is enthusiastic about large sets as well as sophisticated tabletop sets in the studio. Since a couple of years he is working as a DoP and Directing DoP alike. Considering his huge experience in classic photography he is of course also bookable as a photographer.
When he is not shooting he is a passionate fly fisher unless he is working on one of his never ending carpentry projects in his family home.
Fabian Hothan lebt in Hamburg. Nach seiner Ausbildung zum Werbefotografen arbeitete er erst als Fotoassistent und schließlich als freiberuflicher Werbefotograf.
Seine Leidenschaft für Filme brachte ihn dazu die Fotografie hinter sich zu lassen und in die Filmbranche zu wechseln. Er arbeitete erst als Focus Puller und dann schnell als Director of Photography, der zuerst Musikvideos und dann internationale Werbespots dreht.
Fabian hat im Laufe seiner Karriere auf der ganzen Welt gearbeitet und hat unter anderem für Kunden und Music Acts, wie Mercedes, Volkswagen, Audi, Jaguar, BMW, Toyota, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Skoda, Dr. Oetker, Nestlé, Lufthansa, Coca Cola, Aldi, Procter & Gamble, Depeche Mode, Nickelback, und Mel C gedreht.
Fabian hat ein extrem vielfältiges Showreel und begeistert sich für große Sets ebenso, wie für Tabletop Shoots im Studio. Seit einigen Jahren arbeitet er sowohl als DoP als auch als Directing DoP. Durch seine große Erfahrung in der klassischen Fotografie ist er natürlich auch als Fotograf buchbar und realisiert nach wie vor auch reine Foto Projekte.
Wenn er nicht dreht oder fotografiert ist Fabian ein leidenschaftlicher Fliegenfischer.
